The Cramer family - Beau, DelRae, Dalen, and Jett

Beau and DelRae Cramer are high school sweethearts who were born and raised right here in Northwest Oklahoma. With farming and oilfield roots on both sides of the family, hard work and figuring out how to get things done have pretty much always been part of life. Beau has spent more than 20 years building his career in the oilfield, which provided DelRae the opportunity to stay home with their two boys, Dalen and Jett.

But we've also always been the kind of people who like to build things together — sometimes quite literally. Early in our marriage, we built a home from the ground up, acting as our own general contractors, and years later after moving, we took on a complete remodel of our current home. This time, the boys were old enough to be right there working alongside us.

Business, Life, and Timing

We've also always had a little bit of an entrepreneurial streak. From 2017 to 2020, we owned and operated two HOTWORX studios, while DelRae has built businesses of her own through freelance writing, network marketing, nutrition coaching, and other online ventures.

After selling our studios, we knew we weren't finished being business owners — we were just waiting for the right opportunity and the right time. With our oldest, Dalen, recently graduated and Jett finishing up his junior high years, we knew the timing was finally right to focus on building a family business together.

Why Roof Restoration?

When we started looking for that next opportunity, we weren’t interested in building a business just for the sake of owning another business. We wanted something that made sense for our family, fit the communities we know, and offered something we could genuinely feel good about providing.

As an oilfield family with deep farming and ranching roots, we understand how quickly things can change financially. We’ve lived through the ups and downs of the oilfield, where the price of oil can affect everything, and we’ve watched friends and family in agriculture deal with many of those same uncertainties.

Around here, people work hard for their money — and spending thousands of dollars unnecessarily isn’t something anyone wants to do.

That’s a big part of what drew us to roof restoration.

Oklahoma weather is tough on a roof. Between the intense summer sun, heat, wind, hail, and constantly changing weather, asphalt shingles can begin losing the oils that help keep them flexible long before the roof itself necessarily needs to be replaced. Yet when homeowners start noticing an aging roof, most assume their only option is tearing it off and starting over.

Heartland Roof Restoration really is a family business.

Beau and DelRae started it alongside their oldest son, Dalen, a recent high school graduate who also has an entrepreneurial side — he is currently running his own property services business while also working toward his real estate license — and Heartland Roof Restoration gives us the opportunity to build something together, as a family, while helping Dalen build and expand his own portfolio.

And then there’s Jett, our youngest. He’s still finishing junior high and spends most of his free time with a basketball in his hands, but he’s never too far from whatever the rest of us are working on. He pitches in, learns along the way, and will undoubtedly find his own place in the business too.

At the end of the day, Heartland Roof Restoration is more than another business venture for us. It’s something we’re building together, right here in the part of Oklahoma that raised us.

We know these communities because they’re our communities. We know the people because they’re our neighbors, friends, and family.
